The Coast Guard Auxiliary is the volunteer, civilian component of the United States Coast Guard. It operates through an independent, non-profit organization, providing millions of hours of mission assistance to the Coast Guard annually. While the Coast Guard provides some training materials, the Coast Guard Auxiliary is funded primarily from member's dues and charitable contributions.
